Start a flow when someone taps your Instagram or Facebook ad. Your flow's first message becomes the ad's greeting in Ads Manager.
Reply to people who tap a Send message ad, on Instagram or Facebook Messenger. The first message of your flow is the greeting they see when they tap the ad. When they tap a quick reply, or type anything, the flow carries on.
Available on Pro and above, in the flow builder.
Build the flow
In Automations, click New automation and pick an Ad template, or start from scratch. On the When… card, add User clicks an Instagram ad (Instagram account) or User clicks a Facebook ad (Facebook Page).
Write the greeting
Make the first step a Send message with at least one quick reply, or an Ask a question with options. Each quick reply gets its own branch. Leave out variables like {first_name}: Meta shows the greeting before anyone has messaged you.
Set it live
Click Set live. Your greeting now shows up in Meta Ads Manager under your automation's name.
Create the ad in Ads Manager
In Ads Manager, start an Engagement, Traffic or Sales campaign. In the ad set, set Conversion location to Message destinations, choose Manual destination, and tick the app that matches your automation. In the ad, open Conversations › Saved templates (some accounts say Message template) and pick your automation under Reachlee. Publish the ad.
Tick only Instagram.
Good to know
- Instagram: your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page, otherwise the greeting doesn't show in Ads Manager.
- Not listed? The automation must be live, the objective must support messaging, and the conversion location must be message destinations.
- Editing: while an ad uses the greeting, Meta locks it. Turn the ad off, set the automation live again, then turn the ad back on. Steps after the greeting can change any time.
- Paused automations: the ad still shows the greeting, but Reachlee doesn't reply. Turn the automation back on.
- 7 days to reply: after someone messages you from an ad, Meta lets you message them for up to 7 days instead of 24 hours.
- Boosted posts don't use message templates. Create the ad in Ads Manager.
