Ask one question in the DM.
Send each answer its own link.
Someone comments QUIZ and gets a quick question with tappable answers. Each answer receives the product, course or plan that fits it, and Results shows how many people chose each path. Built on Reachlee's canvas for Instagram and Facebook Pages; free to build and to run on one Instagram post.
How a DM quiz works
A DM quiz is a comment-triggered flow that branches on an answer. The private reply invites the person to start, their tap opens the conversation, and an Ask a question step offers up to 13 quick-reply answers. Each answer is wired to its own Send a link step, so a beginner and an expert get different products. In Reachlee it's a ready-made template on the canvas, for Instagram and Facebook Pages.
Why one link for everyone undersells your best post
A comment-to-DM automation usually sends every commenter the same link. That works when you sell one thing. When you sell a starter kit and a full kit, three course levels, or a range of products for different needs, one link sends everyone to a page where they have to work out which option is theirs, and plenty of people leave before they do. A quiz moves that decision into the DM, where people already are and where they already said yes by commenting. You ask the question you would ask in person (which sounds most like you? what's your skin type? what's your goal?) and the answer decides the link. Nothing here needs a website quiz tool or a form: quick replies are native to Instagram and Messenger, people tap instead of type, and the whole exchange takes a few seconds. You also learn something a single link never tells you: how your audience splits between the options. Reachlee's template starts with one question and three answers (Just starting out, Getting serious, Going pro). The question, the answers and the links are yours to change, and you can chain a second question when one isn't enough. It is built on the visual flow builder, so anything the canvas can do, the quiz can do next.
- Trigger: a comment with your keyword (QUIZ in the template) on the post or reel you pick.
- Question: up to 13 tappable answers, each with its own exit, plus Any other reply for people who type.
- Result: every answer sends its own tracked link, and the canvas counts how many people took each branch.
Build the quiz from the template
Open the Quiz template
In Automations, click New automation and choose Quiz → the right product from the Flow templates. It opens on the canvas with the keyword QUIZ, a private reply with a Let's go button, the question, three answers and a link step for each answer, already connected.
Make it yours
Pick the post or reel and change the keyword if you like. Rewrite the question and the answers in your own words, add answers up to 13, and paste the right URL into each answer's Send a link step. Keep the Any other reply message, which asks people who typed to tap one of the answers.
Walk every path, then Set live
Preview plays the quiz on a phone and lets you choose each answer in turn, so you can check every link before anyone sees it. Send a test to your second account, then click Set live. Reachlee checks the flow and your plan before anything goes out.
Watch the split
Once people start taking the quiz, switch on Results. The question card shows how many people reached it, and each answer's branch shows how many took it. Every link is a tracked Reachlee link, so clicks are counted too.
What makes a DM quiz work
Tappable answers, not typing
Ask a question shows up to 13 quick replies under the message. Tapping is faster than typing, and in the Instagram and Messenger apps it's what people expect. On instagram.com quick replies appear as plain text, and typing an answer's label works the same as tapping it.
A path for every answer
Each answer is an exit on the card. Connect it to a link, a second question, a folder or another automation. Any other reply catches anyone who typed something else, so nobody drops out of the flow without hearing back.
Typed answers understood (Growth)
Switch on Understand typed replies and Reachlee AI matches what people type to one of your answers, so 'pretty new to this' goes down Just starting out. Anything it can't place still takes Any other reply. It's part of the Growth plan.
File people by what they chose
Put an Add to folder step on each branch and Contacts becomes a list of who picked what. Filter by folder later, save it as a segment, or send a DM campaign to just the people who said they were going pro.
A reminder for people who didn't click
Every Send a link step has a Not clicked after… exit with a delay you choose. Connect a short reminder and only the people who didn't open their link hear from you again. Timed exits are follow-ups, so they go live on Pro.
Counts on the canvas
Results draws the numbers on the cards: how many people reached the question and how many left along each answer. Rewrite an answer nobody picks, reorder them, or simply learn which product the post really sells.

Quizzes that fit how you sell
A skincare brand with five serums
The reel says comment SERUM for the link, and everyone lands on a collection page with five bottles and a long description of each. People with sensitive skin can't tell which one is safe for them, and many leave.
The DM asks for their skin type with Dry, Oily, Combination, Sensitive and Not sure as answers. Each answer gets the one serum that fits, and Not sure gets the starter set. The comment that used to end on a crowded page now ends on one product.
A course creator with three levels
One link to a sales page that covers beginner, intermediate and advanced. Beginners see the advanced price first and leave; experienced people skim past the basics and decide it isn't for them.
The quiz asks which sounds most like them and sends Just starting out to the beginner course, Getting serious to the intermediate one and Going pro to the full program. The split in Results doubles as your next content plan.
A coach with a free guide and a paid program
Every commenter gets the same booking link. Your calendar fills with people who weren't ready, and the program page gets almost nobody.
One question, where are you right now, sends people who are exploring to a free guide and people ready to start to the program page. A folder on the second branch gives you the warm leads to watch for in your inbox.
A quiz runs on Free. Pro adds the follow-ups.
The Quiz → the right product template uses only Free steps, so you can build it and set it live on one specific post of one Instagram account, within Free's 1,000 DMs a month. Pro ($9/mo) adds the Not clicked reminders, the same quiz on several posts, any post or your next post, Facebook Pages and unlimited DMs. Growth ($14/mo) adds Understand typed replies and the other Reachlee AI steps, with 1,000 AI credits a month.

What if someone types an answer instead of tapping?
They go down Any other reply. In the template that branch sends a short message asking them to tap one of the answers above, which brings most people back on track. On Growth you can switch on Understand typed replies for the question, and Reachlee AI matches what they typed to the closest answer, so 'I've done this for years' goes to Going pro. Anything it can't place still takes Any other reply.
Will everyone who comments get the quiz?
Everyone who comments your keyword gets the private reply with the Let's go button. Meta allows one private reply per comment, within 7 days of it. The question itself arrives when they tap, because that tap opens the conversation the rest of the flow needs. People who never tap only ever see the first message, which is how every tool on Meta's official API works.
How many answers and questions can I use?
A question can show up to 13 quick replies. If one question isn't enough, chain Ask a question steps: an answer can lead to a second question with its own answers, and each final answer to its own link. Keep it short. One or two questions are usually enough to pick a product, and every extra step is a place where people can stop.
Can I see who picked which answer?
The canvas shows counts: how many people reached the question and how many took each answer. To see the people themselves, put an Add to folder step on each branch; Contacts then filters by folder, so Getting serious becomes a list you can open, save as a segment or message later. Free includes 3 contact folders, and paid plans have unlimited folders.
Does the quiz work on Facebook Pages?
Yes. On a Facebook Page the trigger is a comment on a Page post, and the quiz runs in Messenger with the same quick replies, branches and tracked links. Facebook Pages are part of Pro and above, so a Page quiz goes live on Pro.
Do quick replies show on instagram.com?
The quiz runs wherever the DM is read, but quick replies and buttons only appear in the Instagram and Messenger apps. On instagram.com people see your message as plain text, and typing an answer's label works exactly like tapping it. Most people read DMs in the app, so it rarely matters, but it's worth knowing when you test from a laptop.
Can I remind people who didn't open their link?
Yes, on Pro. Every Send a link step has a Not clicked after… exit with a delay you choose. Connect a short reminder message and only the people who didn't open the link receive it. The reminder still has to land within 24 hours of the person's last message, which is why Reachlee's Link + reminder template waits 23 hours.
Is the quiz template free?
Yes. Building, previewing and testing are free on every plan, and every step in the quiz template is a Free step, so you can set it live on one specific post of one Instagram account. Pro is for reminders, several posts or any post, Facebook Pages and unlimited DMs.
