Reply to Instagram comments with AI
substantive ones only
"How much is this?" gets a reply in your tone a few minutes later. A fire emoji and "@priya look at this" get nothing. Buy intent gets a public breadcrumb and the link in their DMs. Included in Growth at $14/mo (₹799 in India).
What is an Instagram AI comment reply?
An Instagram AI comment reply is a public response to a comment written by a language model in the account's tone. Reachlee's AI Comments first classifies each comment as emoji-only, tag-a-friend, negative, spam, or substantive, and replies only to substantive ones. Replies are under 150 characters, contain no links, and go out 2 to 20 minutes later so they read like a person. Buy or link intent is answered with a private DM instead.
From comment to reply, step by step
Check your keyword automations first
If a comment-to-DM automation already matched the comment (someone typed your keyword), it handles the reply and the AI stays out. Comments you posted yourself and comments already answered are skipped too. Nobody gets two replies.
Check scope and budget
By default the AI covers posts from the last 7 days. Switch to selected posts to limit it to specific Reels or carousels. It also checks that you have credits left and that the shared hourly send budget has room, so a viral post cannot burn through your account's rate limits.
Classify the comment
Emoji-only, tag-a-friend, negative, spam, or substantive. Only substantive comments continue: questions, real reactions with words, requests for details. Negative and spam comments are never replied to, so the AI cannot be baited into an argument.
Write a reply under 150 characters
Generated from your brand voice and knowledge, short enough to sit naturally under the comment, and never containing a link. If the comment shows buy or link intent, the public reply becomes a "check your DMs" breadcrumb and a private DM carrying the actual link is sent through the existing comment-to-DM pipeline. That whole pair costs one credit.
Wait 2 to 20 minutes, then post
A random delay between 2 and 20 minutes keeps replies from landing instantly under every comment. One AI reply per commenter per post, ever. Each reply is logged in the Activity feed with a delete-comment action.
Sound like you, not like a bot
Skips the comments that do not deserve a reply
Emoji-only, tag-a-friend ("@rahul this is us"), spam, and negative comments are classified and dropped before anything is written. Skips are free and logged, so you can see what was ignored and why.
No links in public, ever
Public AI replies never contain a URL. Links travel by DM only, through the same comment-to-DM path your keyword automations use, where the click is tracked on your short link.
Buy intent goes to the DMs
"Price?", "link please", "where can I get this?" trigger a public "check your DMs" breadcrumb plus a private DM with the link from your live Share-link goal or knowledge. Public reply, private link, one credit.
One reply per commenter per post
The same person commenting three times on one Reel gets one AI reply. Repeat commenters on a post are skipped so your comment section does not fill with back-and-forth.
Human-feel 2–20 minute delay
Replies are scheduled, not instant. The jitter spreads them across the hour so a post with 200 comments does not get 200 replies in 30 seconds.
Your tone, your scope
Set a one-line role, generate a brand voice paragraph, edit it. Choose recent posts (7 days) or hand-pick posts. Pause the AI globally any time, or delete any AI comment from the Activity feed.
Comments the AI replies to, and comments it leaves alone
"How much is the ring light?"
You answer 30 versions of this in your comment section over two days, or you do not and lose the sale.
Public reply about 8 minutes later: "It's ₹2,499 with the tripod. Check your DMs, sent you the link." Private DM: the product link from your Share-link goal. One credit.
"Do you have this in size XL?"
The comment gets a heart from you and no answer.
"Yes, XL and XXL are in stock this week. Sizing chart is in the pinned post." Pulled from the pasted stock note in your knowledge, in your tone, under 150 characters.
A fire emoji, three times
Some tools reply "Thank you so much!" to every emoji, which reads as automated within a day.
Nothing. Classified emoji-only, skipped, no credit used.
"Worst service ever, still waiting for my order"
An automated "Thanks for your feedback!" makes it worse.
Nothing in public. Negative comments are never answered by the AI, so you can reply yourself with context.

Is replying to Instagram comments with AI allowed?
Yes. Reachlee posts comment replies through the official Instagram API with the permissions your account granted at connect time, the same way the built-in comment-to-DM automations do. The AI only adds the text. Pacing rides the same hourly send budget, so it cannot push your account past Meta's rate limits.
Will Instagram flag AI comment replies as spam?
The design works against that: replies only on substantive comments, at most one per commenter per post, spread out with a 2–20 minute delay, under 150 characters, and never containing a link. Pacing shares the same hourly budget as every other Reachlee action. That is a very different footprint from a bot that replies "Thanks!" to every emoji instantly.
Will it make things up in public?
It answers only from your knowledge and brand voice, with a guardrail to never invent prices or links. Public replies cannot contain links at all. If your knowledge does not cover the question, the reply points to your DMs or says you will get back to them rather than guessing in front of your whole audience.
Does it reply to negative comments or trolls?
No. Negative and spam comments are classified and skipped. You will still see them in Instagram and can answer yourself with the context the AI does not have.
What if I already have a comment-to-DM automation on that post?
The keyword automation wins. When a comment matches one of your keywords, that automation replies and the AI does nothing for that comment. AI Comments only handles comments none of your automations claimed.
Which posts does it cover?
By default, posts from the last 7 days. Switch the scope to selected posts to limit the AI to specific Reels or carousels. You can change scope or pause AI Comments at any time.
How much does it cost per comment?
One credit per AI comment reply sent. If the comment shows buy intent and the AI also sends a private DM with the link, the pair still costs one credit. Growth ($14/mo, ₹799 in India) includes 1,000 credits; Business ($29/mo, ₹1,499 in India) includes 2,500. Skipped comments are free.
Can I delete a reply the AI posted?
Yes. Every AI comment appears in the Activity feed with the original comment, the reply text, and a delete action. You can also pause AI Comments globally while you review.
