A step is one card on the canvas. Most steps send something; some wait, decide or file people. Each step has **exits** along its bottom edge, and you connect each exit to the step that should come next. An exit with nothing connected ends that person's sequence. Steps without a plan noted work on every plan, including Free. ## [Messages](#messages)Copy Anchor Link ### [Send message](#send-message)Copy Anchor Link A text DM with up to **three buttons**. * A **link button** opens a URL. Reachlee tracks the click. * A **continue button** moves the person along its own exit when tapped. For tappable answers that branch the flow, use **Ask a question** instead. **Exits:** _Next step_, plus _Tapped "…"_ for each continue button. ### [Send a photo or video](#send-a-photo-or-video)Copy Anchor Link Upload a photo, a video or an audio clip, with optional text after it. Good for a product shot, a short demo or a voice note. **Exits:** _Next step_. ### [Share a post](#share-a-post)Copy Anchor Link Shares one of your own posts or reels into the DM, with optional text. Pick the post from your recent media. **Exits:** _Next step_. ### [Like their message](#like-their-message)Copy Anchor Link Reacts to the person's last DM with love, like, haha, wow or sad. A friendly touch after they answer. **Exits:** _Next step_. ## [Questions & links](#questions--links)Copy Anchor Link ### [Ask a question](#ask-a-question)Copy Anchor Link Asks something and waits for the answer. The answer is saved under the name you give it in **Save as**, and shows in the campaign's **Answers** tab. * **Quick replies** shows up to 13 tappable answers. Each answer gets its own exit, plus **Any other reply** for anything else they type. * **Free text** accepts any reply and has one _Replied_ exit. * **No-reply branch** adds an exit for people who don't answer within the time you set. * **Understand typed replies** (_Growth and above_): when someone types instead of tapping, Reachlee AI matches what they wrote to one of your options, so "yeah sure" goes down the _Yes_ path. **Exits:** one per option and _Any other reply_, or _Replied_; plus _No reply after …_ if set. ### [Ask for an email or phone](#ask-for-an-email-or-phone)Copy Anchor Link Asks for an email address or a phone number and checks the reply. A valid one is saved to the contact and shows in Contacts, exports and the Answers tab. If the reply isn't valid, Reachlee asks once more with your retry message. **Exits:** _Email saved_ or _Phone saved_, and _Not provided_. ### [Send a link](#send-a-link)Copy Anchor Link A message with one tracked button. Reachlee waits to see whether they click. **Exits:** _Clicked_, and _Not clicked after …_ using the delay you set. Connect a reminder to the second exit. ### [Wait for a reply](#wait-for-a-reply)Copy Anchor Link Sends nothing. Pauses until the person says anything, then continues. Optionally saves what they said under a column name. **Exits:** _Replied_, plus _No reply after …_ if you turn on the no-reply branch. ### [Ask for a follow](#ask-for-a-follow)Copy Anchor Link _Pro and above._ People who already follow you skip the ask and go straight down _Follows you_. Everyone else gets your message with a **Follow** button that opens your profile and an **I'm following** button. When they tap it or reply, Reachlee checks whether they really followed. On a Facebook Page, everyone continues down _Follows you_. **Exits:** _Follows you_, _Didn't follow_, plus _No reply after …_ if set. ## [Contacts](#contacts)Copy Anchor Link ### [Add to folder](#add-to-folder)Copy Anchor Link Adds the person to a contact folder, or removes them from one. Use it to file people by their answers, for example everyone who tapped _Yes, tell me more_ goes into _Hot leads_. **Exits:** _Next step_. ### [Opt out](#opt-out)Copy Anchor Link Stops all automated messages to this person: automations, campaigns and AI replies. Use it on a "Stop messaging me" answer. **Exits:** none. The sequence ends here. ## [Logic](#logic)Copy Anchor Link ### [Wait](#wait)Copy Anchor Link Pauses for minutes, hours or days, up to **7 days**, then continues. If the 24-hour window has closed by the time the wait ends, the person goes down _Can't message any more_ instead. **Exits:** _Then_, and _Can't message any more_. ### [Contact filter](#contact-filter)Copy Anchor Link _Pro and above._ Splits people by who they are, using the same filters as [segments](/docs/contacts/segments/): follows you, has an email, is in a folder, follower count and more. **Exits:** _Matches_, and _Doesn't match_. ### [A/B split](#ab-split)Copy Anchor Link _Pro and above._ Sends people down up to **4 variants** at random, using the percentages you set. Compare the variants in the results to see which message works better. **Exits:** one per variant. ## [Reachlee AI](#reachlee-ai)Copy Anchor Link These steps need _Growth or above_ and use your Reachlee AI knowledge base. Each AI message uses one AI credit, like any AI reply. ### [AI message](#ai-message)Copy Anchor Link Reachlee AI writes one message for this person from your instruction (up to 600 characters) and your knowledge base. It can pick up on what you've talked about before. **Exits:** _Next step_. ### [AI condition](#ai-condition)Copy Anchor Link Reachlee AI reads the conversation and answers a yes/no question about the person, such as _Have they asked about pricing?_ If it isn't sure, the answer is no. **Exits:** _Yes_, and _No_. ### [Hand over to Reachlee AI](#hand-over-to-reachlee-ai)Copy Anchor Link From here, Reachlee AI answers whatever the person says, in your voice and from your knowledge. AI replies must be switched on under **Reachlee AI**. **Exits:** none. Good for hot leads you want to answer personally. **Exits:** _Next step_. ### [Add to Google Sheet](#add-to-google-sheet)Copy Anchor Link _Business._ Adds a row with the person's details and answers to your connected Google Sheet. Connect the sheet first under **Settings → Integrations**. **Exits:** _Next step_. ## [Good to know](#good-to-know)Copy Anchor Link * Buttons and quick replies show in the Instagram and Messenger apps. On instagram.com people see plain text; typing a button's label works the same as tapping it. * Every message counts toward your plan's monthly DM limit. * A step can't send outside the 24-hour window. If someone's window closes while they're mid-sequence, their sequence ends with _couldn't be messaged any more_.
